"E-CHIP ICT Awards 2007" is an annual ICT award was hold by e-CHIP Magazine since 2006. After the success of 2007, e-CHIP ICT Awards had continued to be voted widely through the country via three forms: newspapers, website, and SMS. With about 53,000 votes, this ward was handed for appropriate candidates for the most popular products and services.

Results to be announced on 01-02-2008 at Hotel Continental
In this year, e-CHIP had removed some items in list such as network mobile phone and added on some new ones such as computer retail shop in both of North and South area, computer source, etc.

After the opening with child dancers and e-CHIP chicken as usually, Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Editor of e-CHIP Magazine, had introduced of e-CHIP ICT Award 2007 and vote results from readers as well as its successes in last year. Then, the importance of the ceremony had also taken place in this time.

Vinagame was the game online supplier with game named "Vo Lam Truyen Ky" had won a first cup for prize of the most popular game online in the year. The next one for ADSL service providers had been given to VDC (belongs to VNPT), one was also awarded for S-Fone with mobile internet prize, and FPT was received the prize for ICT enterprise which was the best customer service. Also under the management of FPT, Vietnam Aptech Training Center had been also dedicated the prize for most truth IT training center in 2007.

Computer selling shops Award in North and South was one of the new characters of the e-CHIP ICT Awards this year. Moreover, there was no surprise when both Tran Anh Computer in the North and Phong Vu Computer in the South had won first prize in order. Success of two above enterprises partly depended on quality products, after-sales services, especially the trust of many customers.

Computer
On Vietnamese brand name desktop, FPT with Elead brand had easily won the award when the rate of 47% pressure compared with CMS and Robo. While HP-Compaq was an overseas brand was preferred for all. This year marked a successful year on HP's sales of computer when they lead the world market, had passed Dell and Acer.

Meanwhile, by efforts on reducing price, providing quality products and good after-sales services, Acer had won the cup on hand when overcame Lenovo more than 10% of vote. IBM trademark had also won the cup for server brand name, but it was worth mentioning efforts of FPT Elead when they were overcome HP famous brand throughout the world. This showed that server Vietnamese brand name was attractive as the competitors come from overseas.

Hard drive
About processors, Intel still was the first brand in respect, but the ratio of win was not so much. Meanwhile, board product was passed to ASUSTek Taiwan manufacturer with Asus brand. This manufacturer had overcome national competitor that was Gigabyte with only 0,33% of the vote. On hardware, Seagate still has a firm foothold in the market regardless of Samsung manufacturer’s dramatic rise along with the coming back Vietnam of Western Digital with its official distributor.

Asus brand again demonstrated his reputation when getting prize for the optical drive once again, and the second competitor was Samsung had been overcome LG after in period of strong development. The first time, set of source was added to the vote list in 2007, and it was normal for an order of three leading positions was Cooler Master, Asus and AcBel. Forum of graphic card still was the place to Asus and Gigabyte development; Asus had won the cup again and had a hat trick in the award vote this year.

Peripheral devices
SoundMax loudspeaker brand had continued to affirm their position after many years of being kept by Creative. HP still was the king of laser printer in leading position; however, Canon had narrowed only 10% rate vote. Meanwhile, Epson had created reputation in the market inkjet printer. As for scanning machine, it still was the occurrence of three familiar brand names: HP, Epson, and Genius.

Samsung still was the manufacturer on every computer screen and firmly on all competitors with the rate of over 30%. RAM memory for computer still was for Kingmax brand name from users with rate to 36.17%. Thanking on diversified product, quality, and reasonable price, D-Link had easily awarded for brand of most popular ADSL modem. Meanwhile, the iPod’s music giant had gained two awards for the two entertainment equipments including music player and movies watcher, removing easily competitors away. Digital camera market was witnessed the success of Canon when they were far away from Sony. It was really surprised that Nikon which was the camera manufacturer directly competing with Canon, especially dSLR line, was not in the top three positions. Memory card and mobile hard drive was evidence for ability of Kingston, Kingmax and Transcend.
