SoundMax Hero 5.1
This is really a home entertainment system very impressive, especially design. With 4 standing base satellites (same with previous model: SoundMax B-81; ID: A0601_54) along with great sub box, Hero made highlight the beauty of your sitting-room. Satellite has the shape of standing circle tube by aluminum, silver color, rather high (more than 1m), circle glass base showed luxury. Each of satellite insists of 5 ingredient speakers: 4 mids 3 and 1 treble 1, especially the center one only consists of 2 ingredient speakers 3 and 1 treble 1. Satellites have covering by black metal very reliable. The center speaker is across and shorter (37 cm). The sub’s box is very outstanding: the whole body is black and size is very “great” (51x30x30cm). With cylinder shape, sub speaker make us image to a turning lamp with shade “decorated” very strange. It is very convenient with the face of sub 8 down-firing, air-hole toward right side and adjust buttons are placed on top. The speaker has coaxial and optical entrance; and 2 analog stereo entrances via jack RCA (same with JBL escXcite). It also has remote control and control functions are also on this.

Hero is supported Dolby Digital and DTS, but environment effect is less than JBL escXcite. However, it also has manner 2.1-5.1 and function Boost at 2 levels (+5dB and +10dB) to increase volume for speaker.

The sound of SoundMax Hero is entire outstanding on sound quality when comparing with previous models; for example: SoundMax B-81 although its volume is not as B-81. For film and game, Hero performs very well. Sound is detailed, clear-cut and lively. It is also very excellent with dome sound and channels look as a single but they are mixed together to create a space as in game and film. However, it has a weak point that is volume is not really excellent. When watching film and adjusting Boost (+10dB), volume is significantly increased but bass is lost its nature and not spreading. For music, Hero shows a music space very well, mid/ high is lissome and voice is clear although opening maximum. However, bass seems to be lack although the sub is rather “grandeur”, especially in exciting dance, hiphop songs.
